Odor in Neighborhood

Staff investigated and noticed a moderate chemical odor along the fence line at the plant; however, did not detect odor in front of complainants home. All equipment is operating as required.

Odor of Rotten/Decomposing Diapers

Staff investigated and ensured that proper chemical dosage was going to the scrubbers, repaired a backpressure valve, and checked all solar dryer doors to verify they were closed and sealed.

Fishy and Chemical Odor

WRCRWA staff investigated by 5:10 PM and odor was not detectable.  H2S Measurements were within compliance limits of the AQMD permit and all equipment is running as intended.

Maintenance Activity

This activity will include the operation of a large crane to remove several membrane diffusers that have reached their seven-year lifespan and are in need of replacement.  WRCRWA has no reason to believe this maintenance work will cause odors.

Chemical Odor Smell

WRCRWA Staff took action to lessen the chemical smell.  WRCRWA Staff followed up with the resident who indicated the sprayers that are meant to put floral odors in the air smell chemically and the resident would prefer WRCRWA disable them.

At least two trucks are actively spreading manure on the agricultural property adjacent to the WRCRWA Treatment Plant and there is a strong manure smell at the WRCRWA Treatment Plant and the surrounding area.
